All our lives we feel compelled to search out that place where we can simply “be”.  As children it is a magical place found underneath the lace-covered dining room table in a pretend tent or behind the blanket-covered clothesline walls of a fort in the backyard.  As teens it becomes the place (known by our parents as our “bedroom”) where we can turn up our stereo and ignore all the dirty laundry piling up on the floor.  Even as adults we fashion elaborate rooms in our homes to function as resting and relaxing places.

However, most of you will admit, that as we grow older it becomes harder and harder to reach that special place.  Our careers require more and more of us every day and our homes often whisper of tasks left undone.  In our fast paced world, there are so few places that simply invite us to “be still” and so little time to enjoy a quite, intimate time with family or friends.

Sara, a career mother with four grown children and wife of then almost 30 years, decided that providing a haven for herself and others was not only important, it was her gift.  And so in August of 2003,  Ths. Jitterz Coffee Company was born, a place where people can simply “be” and enjoy “being”.
